Detailed Itinerary of 2 Days Serengeti Flying Safari
Day 1: Fly from Arusha to Serengeti – Arrival and Game Drive
Your adventure begins with a morning transfer from your hotel in Arusha to Arusha Airport, where you’ll check in for your flight to the Serengeti. The flight lasts approximately one hour and offers breathtaking aerial views of Tanzania’s landscapes, including the Great Rift Valley and the endless plains of the Serengeti. Please note that domestic flight baggage is limited to 15 kilograms per person, so pack light and practical.
Upon landing at the designated Serengeti airstrip, you will be met by a professional driver-guide from your luxury lodge. You’ll be transferred to your accommodation in a 4×4 safari vehicle, enjoying your first glimpses of wildlife along the way. If you arrive in the morning, you’ll have time to settle in, enjoy a delicious lunch, and relax before the afternoon activity.
Later in the day, around 3:30 p.m., you’ll embark on your first game drive through the iconic savannahs of the Serengeti. This region is renowned for its abundant wildlife, including lions, elephants, giraffes, and seasonal migratory herds of wildebeest and zebra. The game drive, typically shared with other lodge guests, lasts until around 6:30 p.m., allowing you to enjoy the golden hour light for photography and optimal wildlife viewing.
Return to your lodge for a warm dinner and overnight stay. Your accommodation for the night will be at Serengeti Serena Lodge, a renowned luxury property offering elegant rooms with panoramic views of the park. Should you prefer an upgraded stay, options like Melia Serengeti Lodge, Lemala Ewanjan, or Four Seasons Serengeti can be arranged upon request.
Day 2: Sunrise Safari and Return Flight to Arusha
Rise early for a sunrise game drive, one of the best times of day to witness predators on the move and the bush coming to life. This early outing offers magical lighting for photography and a peaceful atmosphere as the day begins across the plains. After returning to the lodge, enjoy a hearty breakfast before checking out and transferring to the nearby airstrip.
From here, you’ll board your return flight back to Arusha. Upon arrival, our driver will meet you at the airport for a transfer to your hotel in Arusha or to Kilimanjaro International Airport, depending on your onward travel plans.
This marks the end of your short but unforgettable Serengeti experience—a perfect add-on to a longer East Africa trip or a standalone safari escape for those with limited time.
