Day 1: Arrival in Kigali & Transfer to Volcanoes National Park
In the morning at 6am embark on a 2.5-hour scenic drive northwest to Volcanoes National Park. Along the way, enjoy breathtaking views of the Rwandan countryside, known for its rolling green hills and picturesque landscapes.
Golden Monkey Tracking: Upon arrival at Volcanoes National Park, you’ll join a guided expedition to track golden monkeys. Then, in small groups, you’ll set off into the dense rainforest, trekking through vines, bamboo, and tall trees. The forest is alive with sounds as you move deeper into the gorillas’ habitat.
Gorilla Encounter: After some time hiking (trekking can range from 2-8hours depending on the gorilla family’s location), you’ll come face-to-face with a gorilla family. Transfer to Kigali: After your morning on the lake, bid farewell to Uganda and head back to Kigali, crossing the Rwanda-Uganda border en route.
