Day 1: Transfer to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park
After an early breakfast at your hotel in Kampala, you’ll be picked up and begin your journey southwest to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park. En route, stop at the Equator to take memorable photos, enjoy refreshments, and browse local crafts. Continue your drive with stunning views of Uganda’s landscapes and the beautiful Ankole region. Your next stop will be Mbarara, where you’ll have lunch and an opportunity for some light shopping. Finally, head to Bwindi for check-in at your accommodation.

Day 2: Gorilla Trekking in Bwindi Forest National Park
After breakfast, you’ll make your way to the park headquarters for a briefing on gorilla trekking. You’ll then set out into the dense forest to track the mountain gorillas. The trek can last anywhere from 30 minutes to 8 hours, depending on the location of the gorillas and the trail conditions. Trekking through slippery slopes and mist-covered vegetation, you’ll finally meet the gorillas in their natural habitat, where you will have an hour to observe them. Watch the gorillas feed, interact, and relax in their natural environment.
After the trek, head back to your lodge to freshen up and enjoy dinner.
Day 3: Drive to Kampala
On the final day, check out of your lodge and begin the journey back to Kampala. Along the way, stop at the Igongo Cultural Centre for lunch and a mini tour to learn about the fascinating Ankole culture. Afterward, continue your drive to Kampala, where you’ll either be dropped off at the airport for your return flight or at a hotel if you wish to stay longer.
