Day 1: Fly from Entebbe to Bwindi – Start Your Luxury Gorilla Safari
Your Fly-In Luxury Gorilla Trekking Safari begins with a scheduled domestic flight from Entebbe International Airport to Kihihi or Kisoro airstrip, depending on the gorilla trekking sector assigned. Flight times may vary (07:00 am, 10:15 am, or 12:00 pm), so we recommend spending the night before in Entebbe to ensure a smooth, stress-free departure.
Prior to your flight, our team will meet or contact you to provide your e-ticket and gorilla trekking permits. At the airport, Aerolink Uganda staff will assist you through check-in and escort you to your aircraft. The flight lasts about 1 hour, offering spectacular aerial views of Uganda’s landscapes—lush countryside, winding rivers, and rolling hills.
Upon landing at Kihihi or Kisoro, a private driver-guide will welcome you and transfer you through scenic countryside to your luxury lodge in Bwindi (approximately 1 hour). If time allows, we can arrange an afternoon activity such as:

A relaxing nature walk through Bwindi’s edge forest trails
Day 2: First Gorilla Trekking Experience in Bwindi Impenetrable Forest
After an early breakfast, your guide will drive you to the Bwindi Park Headquarters for the mandatory gorilla trekking briefing. You’ll learn about gorilla conservation, safety, and trekking protocols. You may also enjoy a cultural dance performance from the local community women’s group—a beautiful introduction to the area’s rich heritage.
You’ll then be assigned to a specific gorilla family for your trek. Each trekking group consists of up to 8 visitors accompanied by professional rangers and trackers. Trekking times vary depending on the gorillas’ location and can last from 2 to 6 hours. Trails can be steep and slippery, but porters (available for hire at approx. $15 USD) can assist with carrying backpacks or offering support along the way.
Once you find the gorilla family, you’ll spend an unforgettable one hour with them. Witness their behaviors, interactions, and expressive faces from a safe and respectful distance—an emotional and life-changing experience. Rangers will ensure you get incredible photo opportunities while sharing in-depth insights about the individual gorillas and their family dynamics.
After the trek, enjoy your packed lunch in the forest before heading back to your lodge. The afternoon is yours to relax or enjoy additional community walks or spa treatments if available.
Day 3: Second Gorilla Trekking Experience
Today you embark on your second gorilla trek in Bwindi, allowing you to appreciate more of this magical forest and observe a different gorilla family. Each group is unique in size, behavior, and composition—some with silverbacks leading large troops, others with young playful infants. Experiencing more than one trek provides a fuller perspective of gorilla life and increases your chances of exceptional photographs, especially if weather conditions were challenging during your first trek.
As with Day 2, your driver will transfer you to the park offices for your briefing and group allocation. Your rangers and guides will ensure you are matched with a different gorilla family to make this second experience as enriching and exciting as the first.
After trekking and spending your precious hour with the gorillas, return to the lodge for well-earned relaxation and reflection.
Day 4: Fly Back to Entebbe – Departure
After breakfast, you will be transferred to Kihihi or Kisoro airstrip for your domestic flight back to Entebbe. This marks the end of your unforgettable 4 days luxury gorilla safari.
