Day 1: November 19th, 2025 – Arrival in Uganda and Transfer to Kampala
Upon your arrival at Entebbe International Airport, you will be warmly welcomed by our driver-guide. After a short briefing, you will embark on a transfer to Kampala, Uganda’s bustling capital city. Along the way, enjoy your first glimpses of Uganda—the lush green countryside, roadside markets, and the warm smiles of the locals. Depending on your arrival time, you may settle into your hotel and relax, or explore Kampala’s vibrant nightlife with its restaurants, bars, and live music venues. Overnight stay in Kampala.
Day 2: November 20th, 2025 – Nyege Nyege Festival (Day 1)
Today marks the start of Nyege Nyege and Gorilla Trekking, a world-renowned celebration of African and global music, dance, and culture held on the banks of the Nile in Jinja. You will transfer from Kampala to Jinja, where the festival comes alive with colorful stages, electrifying performances, and a diverse crowd from around the world. The first day is a chance to familiarize yourself with the grounds, dance to Afrobeat, house, and electronic music, and explore food stalls offering both local and international cuisine. Immerse yourself in the festive atmosphere until late in the evening.
Day 3: November 21st, 2025 – Nyege Nyege Festival (Day 2)
Wake up to the energy of Jinja town before heading back into the festival grounds. Day two is often packed with live performances from African artists alongside international DJs, spoken word poetry, and cultural showcases. Between the music, you can also enjoy the scenic beauty of the Nile River, take a short boat ride, or relax in chill-out zones. The festival emphasizes inclusivity and freedom of expression, making it a truly unique cultural experience.
Day 4: November 22nd, 2025 – Nyege Nyege Festival (Day 3)
By the third day of Nyege Nyege and Gorilla Trekking, Nyege Nyege is in full swing with a dynamic lineup of performances. Each stage brings something different—whether it’s traditional African drumming, reggae, dancehall, or electronic beats. You’ll have the chance to meet fellow festival-goers from across the globe, exchange stories, and join spontaneous dance sessions. The food, craft stalls, and artistic installations further enhance the experience, making it a cultural melting pot on the shores of the Nile.
Day 5: November 23rd, 2025 – Nyege Nyege Festival (Day 4)
The final day of the festival is often the most emotional, with performers and attendees giving their all to close out this extraordinary celebration. Enjoy the last round of music, dancing, and cultural showcases as the sun sets over the Nile. It’s the perfect way to conclude four days of nonstop fun and cultural immersion. Overnight in Jinja.
Day 6: November 24th, 2025 – Transfer to Lake Mburo National Park
Nyege Nyege and Gorilla Trekking safari continues after breakfast to leave the Nile behind and head southwest to Lake Mburo National Park. The journey takes you through scenic countryside dotted with rolling hills, banana plantations, and small villages. On arrival at the park, you’ll enjoy a short game drive as you head to your lodge. Lake Mburo is the smallest of Uganda’s savannah parks but is home to a surprising diversity of wildlife, including zebras, elands, buffaloes, hippos, and over 350 species of birds. In the evening, relax at your lodge and enjoy the tranquility of the park.
Day 7: November 25th, 2025 – Walking Safari and Transfer to Bwindi Impenetrable Forest
Start the day with a guided walking safari in Lake Mburo. Unlike other parks, Lake Mburo allows walking safaris, giving you the chance to get up close to zebras, antelopes, and giraffes while learning about animal behavior and tracks from your ranger guide. After this exhilarating experience, you will embark on a scenic drive to Bwindi Impenetrable Forest, home of the endangered mountain gorillas. The journey takes you through terraced hills, tea plantations, and winding roads with spectacular views of southwestern Uganda’s highlands. Arrive at your lodge near Bwindi in the evening and prepare for the highlight of your trip.
Day 8: November 26th, 2025 – Gorilla Trekking and Batwa Cultural Experience
Today is the most anticipated day of your Nyege Nyege and Gorilla Trekking —gorilla trekking in Bwindi Impenetrable National Park. After an early breakfast, you’ll head to the park headquarters for a briefing before setting out on your trek. Guided by experienced rangers, you’ll hike through thick jungle, climbing over vines and roots in search of a gorilla family. Once found, you’ll spend an unforgettable hour observing these gentle giants—watching them feed, play, and interact within their natural habitat.
In the afternoon, after the trek, you will visit the Batwa community, the indigenous forest dwellers who once lived in Bwindi. Through songs, storytelling, and demonstrations of traditional practices like hunting and fire-making, you’ll gain insight into their unique way of life and how they are adapting in the modern world. Day 9: November 27th, 2025 – Transfer Back to Entebbe
After breakfast, begin your journey back to Entebbe. Along the way, you’ll pass through the beautiful countryside, stopping at the Equator line for photos and perhaps to purchase souvenirs. Depending on your flight schedule, you may enjoy a farewell dinner in Entebbe before being transferred to the airport for your departure, marking the end of this incredible journey through Uganda.
