Detailed Itinerary

Day 1: Pick Up – Drive to Murchison Falls – Top of the Falls Hike – Afternoon Boat Cruise

Your2 Days Murchison Falls Safari begins early in the morning. After breakfast, your safari guide will pick you up at 7:00 am from your hotel or any convenient location in Kampala or Entebbe. You’ll embark on a scenic 5–6 hour drive northwards through Uganda’s beautiful countryside, passing bustling trading centers, farmlands, and rolling savannah landscapes.

En route, you may choose to stop at Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary for an optional rhino tracking experience — a rare opportunity to see white rhinos on foot with the guidance of a ranger. (This is optional but highly recommended for those who wish to see all members of the Big Five.)

Upon arrival at Murchison Falls National Park, you’ll drive through the lush Kaniyo Pabidi Forest, home to olive baboons, black-and-white colobus monkeys, and other primates. The highlight of the afternoon is a boat cruise on the Victoria Nile, where you’ll get up close to large pods of hippos, basking Nile crocodiles, elephants, buffaloes, and a stunning array of waterbirds such as African fish eagles, kingfishers, cormorants, and the rare Shoebill.

The boat will take you to the base of the mighty Murchison Falls. From here, you’ll disembark and take a guided hike to the top of the falls, where the Nile roars through an 8-meter gorge and plunges 45 meters below. Standing here gives you a spectacular view of the falls, the rainbow mist, and the sheer power of the river.

Afterward, your driver will meet you at the top and transfer you to your lodge for check-in, relaxation, dinner, and an overnight stay.
